About Landscape Design

Why should I hire a professional designer?

An independent designer will bring an unbiased perspective to your project. We can form your vision into a cohesive and functional plan through the use of design analysis principles.

Careful consideration will be given to the environmental factors of your site (i.e. solar orientation, moisture, drainage patterns, soils, etc.), as well as the functional needs you establish with the designer (i.e. ease of maintenance, privacy, ease of movement. etc.). This process ensures your design will be based on sound planning.

How does the design process work?

The usual planning process involves a brief initial meeting with the designer to familiarize them with your site and with your personal vision for the space.

After your initial meeting, you will be provided with a cost estimate required to develop your personalized plan.  Once you approve your estimate, the designer will schedule a return visit to complete the site analysis process. Once this preliminary information is gathered, the design will begin to take shape.

Quality designs take time. The average time to complete a design is approximately 2 weeks. Once the design is completed, there will be a final review of your design with the designer.  Upon completion, you will receive a set of fully-labeled, scale-drawn blueprints of your plan.   These blueprints will then prepare you to begin the bid solicitation process with contractors. Renee LeBon Designs can assist you in the contractor selection process, if desired.

What if I want to do it myself?
One-on-one consultations are available at an hourly rate for the “Do-It-Yourselfer” who already has his/her own ideas and simply wants clarification or direction in order to move forward.

In addition, Renee LeBon Designs can act as an installation overseer for clients using an independent contractor, to guide plant placement, bed line layout, etc. This service is also available at an hourly rate charge.
